Autosave Meeting Logs
Autosave only works if you are
entering the text into a log entry
on the main company page. It
does not currently work if you
are editing in a pop-up window
Venture Tracker will autosave logs as you type them.
If you have a browser crash, a network outage, forget to save, or anything else, when you come back to that log (On the Company View page), it will show the stored log but also your autosave - if that is different.
You will then have to decide how to update from the options given.
- Recover will overwrite the stored log with the autosave log.
- DIscard will throw away the autosave.
- Append will add the autosave to the end of the stored log.
If in any doubt, use append and then manually edit!
You will still need to commit/save a change to make a log official at some point.
Quickly find logs with Autosaves to check
By using the Other Items → All logs menu, you can quickly see all logs recorded in Venture Tracker. If an autosave is found for a log, it will be flagged with a warning icon:
Over time, you will have a large number of logs recorded in VT, hence there is a useful filter function at the top of the table. This will restrict the list of logs displayed to only those with an autosave to consider. You can return to the full list by clicking the same button a second time.
