User Interface

The main menu system is on the left hand side of the screen. The first section of the menu will be context specific and show actions relevant to the currently displayed page of data, where appropriate.

At the top right is a drop down menu for your profile settings, a link to these help pages, and a site wide search function.

Within the main menu you will see entries for all the major functions within VT. Items will only show if they are enabled for your VT instance - see Setting Up

You can change the colours for your personal view of VT using the circular Settings button in the lower right corner. This is stored in a cookie on your computer for future sessions.

Within the main display, certain icons are used throughout VT. They are often to be found to the right of individual records, as follows:

• View this item
• Edit this item
• Delete this item
• Send this item as email / edit email details

You may also see certain fields throughout which have a dotted line below and an edit icon alongside - these are 'Quick Edit' fields, and you can change their value by clicking on them and entering a new value.

You will only see those icons that correspond to actions you have permissions for, e.g. not all users can delete companies, or users can only delete their own log entries, for example.
